This French course covers the following topics:

This French course is the final stage in the first year French program. It is suitable for those who have completed all levels of French up to 103 or who have completed 70 hours of recent face to face tuition. This level builds upon the previous three terms work and prepares you for the second year program. French 104 covers various cultural elements, such as food and cafe visits, and various games and city locations. Speaking, listening and writing skills learned are consolidated and further expanded to cover the use of pronouns, ordinal numbers and various expressions of quantity.

• Understanding printed information
• Specific enquiries and Booking a seat
• Culture: Le metro, RATP, trains SNCF, TGV
• Daily transportations
• Booking a hotel room/ a camping site
• Apologising being late
• Enquiry in hotel
• Reporting a problem
• Chateaux et hotels independants, chambres chez l’hôte, auberge de la jeunesse
• Expressions de quantité (formes affirmative, interrogative et négative)
• Nombres ordinaux
• Passé compose with avoir and être
• Pronoms compléments d’objet direct
• Verbs savoir, connaître
• More irregular verbs
• Direct object pronouns

This French language course is based on Units 7-8 of the above text. The text is used for class activities and forms the basis for consolidation and practice between meetings.
